QUALIFICATIONS
- I am an ISA Certified Arborist #PN-5840A and a member of both the ISA and the PNWISA.
- I am a member of Plant Amnesty, an organization promoting respect for the care of trees.
- I have completed all the standard ArborMaster training modules. Also, I have completed the following Arboriculture Canada Training and Education courses: Tree Climbing, Fall Protection and Work Positioning, Chainsaw Safety and Technical Tree Falling, Hazard and Danger Tree Cutting, Spar Pole Rigging, Tree Dynamics & Integrated Risk Assessment, Rope Access, Arborist Technical Rigging, Emergency Readiness and High Angle Rescue.
- I hold a certification through ACTE in the flowing disciplines: Climber Technician, Faller Technician, Rescue Technician, and Risk Assessment Technician.
- Attended the original Certified Arboriculture Technician Trainer Certification Intensive in January of 2007.
- I have attended Structural Risk Assessment seminar presented by Erk Brudi, of Tree Consult, Brudi & Partner, Germany, where I learned to apply an engineering based approach to tree risk assessment, called SIA, or Statics Integrating Assessment. This is a Non-Invasive tree assessment method.
- As a self-educated arborist, I am an avid reader. I consult often A New Tree Biology and A New Tree Biology Dictionary by Dr. Alex Shigo, Arboriculture: Integrated Management of Landscape Trees, Shrubs, and Vines by Harris, Matheny, and Clark, as well as many other writings including the Arborist News magazine and the Journal of Arboriculture.
